COVIDSAFETY

Please also refer to BLAIRWOOD COVID GUIDELINES here.

SELF-ADMINISTERED HEALTH SCREEN

Please visit the Center for Disease Controls symptom list and perform a personal health screen each day before you come to the Tritons Facility.

The most concerning threat to an organized sports team is rapid spread within the group. Effective containment depends on early symptom identification, removal from practice (isolation), and strict guidelines regarding return to practice.

If you had any of the following symptoms in the past 24 hours, please remain at home and monitor your symptoms. If they persist for more than 48 hours please either quarantine for 14 days from symptom onset or get a COVID test done. If practical, go to a testing facility to be assessed.

Symptoms:

  • Unexplained rash

  • Diarrhea

  • Vomiting

  • Cough

  • Shortness of breath/difficulty breathing

  • Fever

  • Chills

  • Muscle pain or body aches

  • Sore throat

  • New loss of taste or smell

POSITIVE TEST PROCEDURE

Should a swimmer test positive or is otherwise exposed for at least 15 minutes without a mask on and within 6 feet to someone who has tested positive for COVID‐19, Tritons Swim Club will require the following measures:

  • If swimmer tests Positive: Self-quarantine a minimum of 10 days from the positive test taking date.

  • Please report any positive cases to Head Coach, Mike Essig.

Notes:

  • Any fully vaccinated swimmer, as defined by the CDC, does not need to quarantine following an exposure to a COVID positive individual if he or she is not experiencing symptoms.

** It is of utmost importance that parents are transparent with coaches regarding any potential exposures or positive tests in their immediate family**

TRITON STAFF

There are standard operating procedures in place for Tritons coaches and staff to follow should they become exposed or have a positive test.

ADDITIONAL SAFETY EXPECTATIONS

  • Once the Bubble is assembled, swimmers will only be permitted to enter the Bubble 10 minutes before their scheduled practice. If they arrive early, they must wait in their car or in the dining area by the Grill until the appropriate time to enter the building.

  • Swimmers must leave Blairwood immediately at the completion of any practice.

  • Parents / guardians should refrain from entering and congregating inside the Bubble during practice times unless necessary. We understand this may bring Safe Sport concerns. We will have 3-4 coaches, multiple lifeguards, and other staff on site. At all times, we will be well beyond “two-deep leadership” and well within the requirements of Safe Sport.

  • Swimmers should be prepared to arrive and depart in their suits.

  • Please follow each facility’s guidelines on restroom use. Locker rooms should not be used for changing and deck changing is strictly prohibited. The only exception to locker room policy will be swimmers who must get ready for in-person learning after a morning practice, or who are coming to Blairwood directly from school.

  • We ask that you only bring what is necessary for practice and limit the items that come into the facility. There will be limited seating and storage space.

  • Swimmers should bring their own water bottles.

  • For everyone to stay healthy and be able to keep swimming, we ask our swimmers to please practice responsible social distancing when they are away from the pool as well.

  • Tritons staff will be disinfecting the bathrooms throughout the day and we will be fogging the high use areas nightly at closing with an approved disinfectant.
