Gold Training Group Spotlight

“Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice and most of all, love of what you are doing or learning to do.” - Pele

We believe all the swimmers in Gold group can be successful if they apply all these qualities mentioned above!

Each week we have been pushing them outside their comfort zones more and more. We’ve been increasing yardage, tightening intervals, and testing their physical and mental

strength in test sets!

We will start incorporating more race specific work these next few weeks. Helping them adjust their bodies to going MAX speed for competitions coming up!

While working hard we’re also trying to have some fun. We realize they are young, and sometimes a little fun can rejuvenate and encourage them.

We’re incorporating at least one fun practice a week to motivate them and encourage team bonding. Like the quote above, we want them to love what they are doing or learning to do!

With the holidays coming up, Casey and I have talked about doing something fun and holiday-themed for practices. Whether it's dressing up, having a group breakfast, or doing a challenge fun set at practice (such as trick or treat)!

We’re excited to see them race at Fishers! It has been quite a few months since they have raced short course. We're excited to see the hard work from long course and from these next few weeks pay off with some best times!! It will be fun having a normal short course season again (fingers crossed).

Gold group is persevering, working hard, learning, studying, and, hopefully, loving what they’re doing every day!
