Harvest Classic!
Updated: Nov 15, 2019
1. Senior 1
a. Marco LJUBIC was 100% best times and achieved a new state cut in the 200 IM. Jake Lundquist had 2 best times in the 200 back and 500 free. They had a great meet and way to represent Senior 1!
2. Senior 2
a. Very proud of the six swimmers competing at the Harvest Classic! A big shout out goes to the following swimmers ~ Addison Lilly, Jett Meffert, Kaitlyn Meredith, Caroline Raible, Owen Ritchie, and Ty Wectawski! The swimmers showed a 50% best times improvement level at the meet. It was Jett Mefffert’s first USA short Course meet. We had Ty Wecttawski go 8/8 on best times coming back a week later from competing at the Carmel Fall Frenzy. We need to also recognize Owen Ritchie going 6/8 nest times after coming back from a broken foot! Way to go Senior 2 Swimmers!
3. AGP
a. We had 12 swimmers competing at the Harvest Classic. I am so proud of the group in which 7 of the swimmers competed the week before at the Carmel Frenzy. Everyone was dialed into how they could become better and very supportive to each other at the meet. The swimmers showed a 40% best times improvement level at the meet. Below, you will find some the highlights form the AGP team:
· Riley Auton – 3/8 Best Times – 1st time swimming the 200 Back & 400 IM and making the 13-14 cuts in both events.
· Jack Bolyard – Swims his first 200 back & gets 6th place.
· Caleb Guevara – Swims is second meet for Team TRITON and goes 100% best times.
· Madeline Haller – Swims 7 times during the weekend and goes 6 lifetime best times at the meet.
· Kaylee Vander Velden – Swims the 200 Back gets 3rd Place and drops 5+ seconds.
4. Senior Prep
a. The Harvest Classic Meet in Shelbyville, KY was, in a sense, a throwback meet to when, as a lot of the parents may remember, meets were run in a single pool without any cool down lanes. With that being said, the Senior Prep group swam tough! I enjoyed watching Kailey Greenwell and Marcella De-Leon Vasquez compete for Triton for the first time. Both raced very well and can't wait to see them compete again. The group overall swam to 58.7% best times, with Sean Korner leading the way in a clean sweep of 100% of his swims being personal bests. Looking forward to even more great swims in December.
5. Gold
a. The results of the GOLD GROUP in the Harvest Classic Meet:
b. 108 best times of 196 event swam
c. 11 NEW STATE CUTS
6. Silver
a. From all the results and talking with everyone we had another great meet out in Shelbyville. What was another stepping stone was hearing from Coach Megan that silver knew what to do during warmups and did everything correct while she was also doing her other 2 groups. We had 3 new swimmers get state cuts and those were Lana Shapero, Owen Mays, and Justin Zachman! They all have been working hard on getting their State cuts and achieved them. Also had many swimmers swim their first meet with us and they did an awesome job looking at the results. I am excited to see how we do in Fishers!
7. Bronze
a. So many first-time swims and best times happened for the Bronze group. 30 first time swims, 28 best times, for 58 best times from 19 swimmers!! It felt like every race had some new and amazing swims with time drops. Violet Evans best times or new races in all 6 races that she competed in! As a group our 100 IM’s were unbelievable, 3 first time swims and 4 others best times! Triton Bronze group is looking STRONG!!!!
8. Pre-Comp
a. We had 10 swimmers from the Pre-Comp group compete. Swimmers swam for the first time in the 100 Free, 50 Back, 50 Breast and 100 IM. They all did a great job! We have some work to do on our breaststroke still, but we are developing great skills! 5 swimmers swam best times in the 25 Free! Luke Northup went from a 21.00 to a 19.51, that’s an impressive drop and to be under 20 seconds is awesome!
